About Sheila Tysdal

Sheila Tysdal

Sheila was born and raised in a small rural town in southern Saskatchewan, Canada. Her love of drawing started at an early age and in grade 5 where she drew her favourite story character of Jean Val Jean. Life was busy as a farmwife and mother of 3 but during this time she experimented in oil painting with a local group that met monthly. In the 80's, she discovered the popular decorative painting style (Folk Art) which introduced her to acrylic painting. With this new love she started a company called "Pine-craft Classics" and showcased her work in craft shows in Regina Agribition, in a store called Works of Art in Regina, and eventually in Yvette Moore Gallery of Fine Art in Moose Jaw.
